Ever since the establishment of Bangladesh Embassy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Mission has been making efforts to further strengthen bilateral ties and bring the two brotherly countries closer. The Embassy is specially focusing on promotion of trade and investment cooperation between the two friendly countries.

One of the most important responsibilities of the Embassy in Riyadh is to look after the welfare of our community living in the Kingdom. It sends consular teams to different parts of the country on a regular basis to provide various types of services. The Embassy also provides legal assistance to Bangladeshis in need.

The Embassy in Riyadh also looks after Bangladesh’s relations with Ethiopia and Sudan as countries of concurrent accreditation. The Ambassador is also the Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) which has its headquarters in Jeddah.

The Embassy has five wings, namely : Diplomatic Wing, Defence Wing, Economic and Commercial Wing, Labour Wing and Banking Wing

Activities of different Wings:

The Political Wing coordinates with the Government of Saudi Arabia on matters of bilateral and mutual interests on behalf of the Government of Bangladesh. It also receives and disseminates information on various issues and strives to continuously strengthen Bangla-Saudi bilateral relations.  

The Consular Wing extends all sorts of passport and consular assistance to the non resident Bangladeshi living in the Kingdom. The wing also issues visas to Saudi nationals as well as foreign nationals resident in KSA to visit Bangladesh for different purposes.

The Labour Wing examines and attest the visa documents for new employment in different Companies/employer. It provides all necessary guidance, assistance to the Bangladeshi nationals in distress, facilitates settlement of disputes arises in the service contracts and assist in realizing dues and service benefits or compensation for any accidents, deaths and repatriation of the dead bodies to Bangladesh.

The Economic Wing is responsible for promoting business relations between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia by enhancing bilateral trade, investment and other commercial exchanges. It also interacts with the Saudi Government, Chambers of Commerce and business community with regard to economic and commercial issues of mutual interest such as trade policies , agreements, investment etc.

The Defence Wing interacts with Saudi defence authorities for defence cooperation, exchanges etc.

The Banking Wing assists  and promotes the remittance of non resident Bangladeshis through banking channel. Promotes sale of different Government Bonds specially designed for non resident Bangladeshis.
